Overview
Faren Mining and Metallurgy Zambia Company Limited is a Sino-Zambian hydrometallurgical enterprise in Chingola, at the heart of Zambia's world-famous Copperbelt. We operate a 300-hectare industrial park built around a fully automated copper production chain — from ore crushing and ball milling, through agitation leaching and solvent extraction, to high-purity electrolytic copper.
Our target is a designed output of 10,000 tonnes of high-purity electrolytic copper per year, delivered reliably to customers around the world.
Production process
From ore to high-purity copper cathode
Crushing & milling
Ore is crushed and ball-milled to a fine grind ahead of leaching.
Agitation leaching
Copper is dissolved from the ore under controlled conditions.
Solvent extraction
Copper is selectively extracted and concentrated into a purified, copper-rich solution.
Electrowinning
High-purity copper is recovered as cathode at the terminal stage.
